Board of Directors

CIHI’s 17-member Board of Directors is proportionately constituted to create a balance among health sectors and regions of Canada. It links federal, provincial and territorial governments with non-governmental health-related groups.

CIHI’s Board serves as a national coordinating council for health information in Canada and fulfills 4 key roles: stewardship, advisory, fiduciary and monitoring.

CIHI’s Board of Directors is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive governance environment that strives to reflect all people impacted by the health systems we serve. The steps we are taking as a Board align with CIHI’s broader Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, including evaluating and monitoring Board diversity and building a foundation of EDI education and awareness.

We want to create space where everyone is comfortable being their authentic selves. We welcome Indigenous Peoples and persons of all backgrounds, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities and expressions, and sexual orientations, and from historically marginalized communities to be considered as candidates for our Board team.
