Steven Haddad

Bio
As executive director of Provincial and Territorial Relations, Steven Haddad provides leadership and direction for CIHI’s local presence across Canada. In this role, he and his team develop and maintain relationships with all provincial and territorial governments, as well as health system partners, with the goal of understanding their unique health information needs to ensure that they are considered in the development and delivery of our products and services.
Mr. Haddad comes to CIHI with 2 decades of senior public service leadership experience. During his more than 15 years with the Province of Ontario, he occupied various senior leadership roles, including regulating the paramedic profession and pre–hospital care sector. Some of his achievements include successfully implementing new models of care for 9-1-1 emergency patients, building increased system capacity for the transport of medically stable and vulnerable populations, and starting a program to fund dedicated vehicles for critically ill newborns and pediatric patients. More recently, he worked for Health Canada as Executive Director of Policy on the creation of the Canadian Dental Care Plan. His work at the federal and provincial levels has been recognized by numerous Health Canada and Amethyst awards.
He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Wilfred Laurier University and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Université Laval.
