> > Tracy Johnson, Director of Health System Analysis and Emerging Issues, CIHI: 9 out of 10 Canadian seniors surveyed who received publicly funded home care said that the service helped them remain at home.

93% of those who received publicly funded home care said that they were satisfied with the service. This question was asked in The Commonwealth Fund, in an international survey that is completed annually on 11 countries.

Home care is considered an important part of keeping Canadian seniors safe at home. That said, 91% of Canadian seniors reported that they did not require publicly funded home care and 12% say that they rely on informal caregiving.
