Organ donation, transplantation and dialysis: Data holdings

The Canadian Organ Replacement Register (CORR) is the existing national database that provides statistics to track long-term trends for dialysis activity, organ transplantation, organ donation and wait-list statistics. CORR collects data from hospital dialysis programs, transplant programs, organ donation organizations (ODOs) and independent health facilities to track patients from their first treatment for end-stage organ failure (dialysis or transplantation) to their death.

CIHI is building a new pan-Canadian ODT data repository as part of the CIHI-Infoway co-led ODT Data Project. Select ODT indicators may also use data from additional sources, such as the Discharge Abstract Database metadata (DAD), which captures administrative, clinical and demographic information on hospital discharges.
