Canadian Institute for Health Information helps shed light on mental health of Canadians

David O'Toole's speaking notes

January 22, 2015—David O'Toole, President and CEO of the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), will join representatives from the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) and Simon Fraser University to mark the release of the MHCC's national indicators dedicated to the mental health of Canadians and the systems that support them, at an event in Ottawa today.

O'Toole will speak at the event launching the MHCC's report Informing the Future: Mental Health Indicators for Canada.

"The release of these indicators is an important achievement and milestone. However, there remain really significant gaps in the data and information about mental health that we need to address," O'Toole says.

Mr. O'Toole will be available to the media after the session.
