March 6, 2017 — The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) launched its new website today.

After almost a year of consultations with CIHI’s stakeholders, spanning 5 phases of redesign and more than 3,500 responses, will now provide a more effective user experience — one that supports how visitors told us they want to access CIHI’s products and services.

What’s new at

The site is now easier to search, highlighted by the ability to filter content by topic, theme and geography.

Changes to the site’s navigation allow our stakeholders to work with us more easily, whether they are submitting data, viewing standards, accessing data or reports, or learning about how CIHI brings value to health systems.

CIHI’s website features better integration among our products through enriched tagging of more than 10,000 pieces of content.

The new design also highlights CIHI’s visual brand, unveiled last year.

“CIHI made a commitment to put its stakeholders’ needs at the core of everything we do,” said David O’Toole, CIHI’s president and chief executive officer. “This is not the end of our work to reimagine CIHI’s digital footprint. As the journey continues, our stakeholders’ feedback will help us determine how our website evolves.”
