These statistics draw on data from the Canadian Organ Replacement Register (CORR) — a pan-Canadian information system for organ failure in Canada. The data tables and figures examine dialysis, organ transplantation and donation characteristics, trends and patient outcomes in Canada between 2005 and 2014.

2,433 solid organs were transplanted in Canada in 2014:

Renal replacement therapy for end-stage kidney disease

Explore trends for end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) patients who are newly diagnosed (incidence), patients being treated at a given point in time (prevalence), patient outcomes (survival) and renal replacement therapies. At the end of 2014, there were 35,281 Canadians (excluding Quebec) living with ESKD — 20,690 on dialysis and 14,591 living with a functioning kidney transplant.

Kidney transplantation

Take a closer look at present trends and provincial breakdowns for kidney transplant recipients (adult and pediatric), patients on waiting lists and patient outcomes. In 2014, there were 1,430 kidneys transplanted, including simultaneous kidney–pancreas transplants, an increase of 29% since 2005.

Liver transplantation

Examine trends and provincial breakdowns for liver transplant recipients, patients on waiting lists and patient outcomes. In 2014, there were 6,146 patients in Canada living with a transplanted liver.

Pancreas transplantation

Donors
