Ms. Teri Collins
Ms. Teri Collins is 1 of 2 members representing British Columbia on CIHI’s Board of Directors. Ms. Collins was appointed assistant deputy minister of the Health Sector Information, Analysis and Reporting Division of the B.C. Ministry of Health Services in August 2015. In this role, Ms. Collins leads several dedicated and professional teams serving internal and external clients, including vital statistics, information access and management, health sector analytics, and performance measurement and reporting. For the past 11 years, Ms. Collins has been a key member of the health team, holding several senior management positions within the ministry. Most recently as the executive director of Quality Assurance, Ms. Collins’ accountabilities included leading and supporting the monitoring of health service delivery through the oversight of programs such as Assisted Living, Community Care Licensing, Guidelines and Protocols Advisory Committee, Quality Assurance, Clinical Care Management, and Patient Safety and Patient Care Quality. Currently, Ms. Collins is the co-chair of the Provincial Standing Committee on Performance Measurement, Analytics and Evaluation, and she also co-chairs the Federal/Provincial/Territorial Health Information Group. She is an active member of the Provincial Data Stewardship Committee, as well as the CIHI Western Strategic Advisory Collaborative. Ms. Collins holds a Master of Arts in Leadership — Health from Royal Roads University; she is passionately committed to employee engagement and demonstrates this in her leadership style and through her support of the ministry and the public service.
