Canada has one of the highest prevalence rates of diabetes among OECD countries. It’s estimated that in 2014, more than 3 million people had the disease.

Here are some things you can do to prevent diabetes:

  • Maintain a healthy body weight
  • Reduce intake of high-sugar foods
  • Choose the right fats
  • Get some exercise
  • Flavour your food with spices (not salt)
