Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
Scott Murray joined CIHI on January 2, 2001, as Director, Information Systems, and was appointed Chief Technology Officer in 2003 and Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in 2011. In this position, he has overall responsibility for the Information Technology and Services (ITS) division. ITS delivers a comprehensive set of information technologies and related applications development, management and operations services in support of all corporate programs and data holdings. The division also includes responsibility for coordinating CIHI’s liaison with external health information standards–setting bodies, such as Canada Health Infoway and provincial councils, and for contributing to the development of pan-Canadian health infostructure standards.
Mr. Murray is a seasoned information systems executive with more than 30 years’ progressive experience in the development, implementation and management of information systems and technologies. He has held senior information systems management positions with Imperial Oil, NetStar Communications and OnX.com.
Mr. Murray holds a bachelor of arts (economics) and a master’s in business administration.
