Home and Continuing Care eBulletin - November 2017
New Home Care Quality Indicators now available
CIHI is pleased to announce that participating jurisdictions are now able to access detailed results for the new Home Care Quality Indicators in HCRS eReports. These quality indicators are available for jurisdictions collecting data through the Resident Assessment Instrument–Home Care (RAI-HC) or interRAI-HC assessment systems. The Home Care Quality Indicators and other interRAI home care data can be used at the organization or system level to support quality initiatives, program evaluation, peer comparisons and benchmarking.
Please contact email@example.com to request access to CIHI’s eReports.
CCRS and HCRS Quick Stats Released for 2016-2017
The 2016-2017 Continuing Care Reporting System (CCRS) and Home Care Reporting System (HCRS) Quick Stats are now available on CIHI’s website. These data tables include province/territory-level demographic, clinical and resource utilization information where available.
The CCRS Quick Stats provide a profile of residents in submitting residential care and hospital-based continuing care facilities.
The HCRS Quick Stats provide a profile of clients who receive long-term home care services from publicly funded programs in participating jurisdictions.
More detailed data on resident or client characteristics, resource utilization and outcomes may be of particular interest to researchers, health care facilities, regional health authorities, ministries of health and others. Visit our website to learn how to make a custom data request.

CIHI has updated the interactive map in Continuing Care Reporting System (CCRS) eReports. This interactive map of Canada displays the location of submitting facilities and their adjusted quality indicator results over the most recent 8 fiscal quarters. The users can hover over specific facility points with their mouse to see a facility’s name and adjusted rate for the selected indicator. They can also select multiple facilities to compare adjusted rates and export the data in Excel. The map can be accessed from a tab at the top of the CCRS eReports launch page.
