Mr. Milton Sussman
Mr. Milton Sussman is 1 of 2 members representing the Prairies on CIHI’s Board. Mr. Sussman was appointed president and CEO of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) in October 2015. He is the third person to hold this position since the WRHA was created in 1999. Mr. Sussman has a passion for health care and a wealth of experience in senior administrative roles across health care, government and the not-for-profit sector. He has devoted most of his professional life to health care and not-for-profit administration. Early in his career, he was the CEO of Ten Ten Sinclair Housing, a not-for-profit organization delivering a transitional housing program for people with physical disabilities. He went on to hold senior administrative positions in health care, including deputy minister of health and healthy living with the province of Manitoba, and vice president of long-term care and chief allied health officer with the WRHA. Prior to joining the WRHA as president and CEO, he was clerk of the Executive Council and Cabinet secretary with the province of Manitoba. Mr. Sussman has a keen understanding of the health system both provincially and nationally. Familiar with the nuances involved in health care delivery in acute care, the community and long-term care, he has made significant contributions to local, provincial and national conversations about health, wellness, governance and accountability.
