Ms. Susan Fitzpatrick
Associate Deputy Minister, Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care
Susan Fitzpatrick is 1 of 2 members representing Ontario on CIHI’s Board of Directors. She was appointed associate deputy minister of Health System Delivery and Implementation in the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care on May 20, 2014. As associate deputy minister, Ms. Fitzpatrick is responsible for bringing together health programs in local health integration networks (LHINs), community care access centres (CCACs), long-term care (LTC) and physician services, for creating alignment opportunities in order to deliver quality health services to patients, and for leading the implementation of the ministry’s Health System Funding Reform and Health Quality strategies. She is responsible for a health care program portfolio with a staff of approximately 660 and transfer payments of more than $41.5 billion. Ms. Fitzpatrick is a results-oriented leader, a strategic planner and a skilled negotiator with a capacity to engage stakeholders and build consensus across the broader health sector and within government. Ms. Fitzpatrick also holds a bachelor of arts (honours) in business administration from the University of Western Ontario and a master’s degree in public administration from Queen’s University.
