Dr. David Ostrow
Dr. David Ostrow is 1 of 2 members representing British Columbia on CIHI’s Board of Directors. Between 2009 and 2014, Dr. Ostrow was the president and chief executive officer of the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (VCH). Prior to this, Dr. Ostrow was chief information officer (2001 to 2003) and vice president, Medical and Clinical Innovation, (2003 to 2009) for VCH. He was also the founding medical director of the BC Transplant Society/Vancouver General Hospital’s Lung Transplant Program (1988 to 1997) and served as vice president of Clinical Services from 1997 to 2001 at Vancouver General Hospital.
Dr. Ostrow is active in medical education and continues to conduct an outpatient practice in pulmonary diseases at the Vancouver General Hospital’s Lung Centre. Dr. Ostrow is a member of the Board of Directors for Accreditation Canada and is currently chair of the Western Healthcare CEO Forum.
He is also the author or co-author of more than 90 publications, articles and journal features.
