The Canadian Hospital Reporting Project (CHRP) is a national quality improvement initiative from CIHI. This interactive tool gives hospital decision-makers, policy-makers and Canadians access to results for more than 600 facilities from every province and territory in Canada.

The Hospital Results provide reports and graphs that contain facility-level results for each indicator over multiple years. Using the interactive tool, users can compare peers at the regional, provincial/territorial and national levels and examine performance across years.
Contextual information, such as community profiles and hospital-level characteristics, is available to help users interpret the results and identify peer hospitals. The interactive nature of the tool means that users can focus on the information that is most relevant to them.
The tool also has interactive maps to help users visualize, interpret and compare the information provided. Maps show a snapshot of performance across the country and can be a starting point for further investigation. They are also useful for those who are specifically interested in identifying performance trends related to population density or geography.
The Key Findings (see below) highlight notable trends and interesting results for selected indicators. These analyses highlight some of the differences seen across hospitals, peer groups and jurisdictions as well as over time. For this first release, the key findings focus on four indicators:
The Key Findings reports help users learn and share best practices. They assign Performance Allocation to hospitals for seven of the indicators in the Clinical Effectiveness domain. Performance Allocation is intended to help hospitals identify others they can learn from. It helps identify areas where improvement is needed, increase collaboration and track the success of improvement initiatives.
