Kathleen Morris
Director, Health System Analysis and Emerging Issues

As Director of CIHI’s Health System Analysis and Emerging Issues group, Kathleen Morris is responsible for quick-turnaround projects that address priority information needs. Recently, the group tackled topics such as the impact of H1N1 on the health care system, whether the focus on wait time priority procedures crowds out other types of care and what happens to alternate level of care patients following discharge from acute care. Ms. Morris is also responsible for wait times measurement and reporting, working with the provinces to create a foundation for measuring waits for emergency care, specialist consultations, diagnostic services and cancer treatment.

Ms. Morris came to CIHI after several years with a national consulting firm, where she led strategic and operational projects for hospitals, health regions and governments across the country. She has considerable experience as a volunteer board member for acute care hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, community organizations and long-term care facilities.
