The Standards for Management Information Systems in Canadian Health Service Organizations (MIS Standards) is a set of national standards used across the health care system to collect and report financial and statistical data from health service organizations’ daily operations.
The MIS Standards reflects management information principles and a conceptual framework that together provide an integrated approach to collecting, integrating and reporting financial, statistical and clinical data.
Workload measurement systems
A workload measurement system (WMS) is a tool for measuring the volume of activity provided by a specific functional centre in terms of a standardized unit of time. When used with other financial and statistical data (such as hours, staff and service activity), measuring the functional centre’s workload gives managers a good indication of the amount and kinds of services provided in terms of productivity, utilization and financial indicators.
