Data and information quality are fundamental to our mandate. We are always working to enhance the quality and timeliness of our data and information. Through our data quality program, we ensure that we meet the highest standards in data collection and reporting.

CIHI’s Data Quality Framework

Our Data Quality Framework sets out a strategy to systematically assess, improve and document data quality for all of our data holdings. This framework helps us identify both strengths and limitations in our data.

Quality of care and health outcomes

Our health care data is used in the analysis of quality of care and health outcomes in Canada’s health care system. We do this by producing CIHI data that helps inform discussions about how to improve quality of care and patient outcomes.
